TITLE: How effective is renormalisation?
Abstract:
In perturbative QFT, renormalisation is performed by eliminating classes of diagrams. It therefore influences the perturbative expansion of all Green's functions. We shall discuss how the asymptotic (i.e. very high order) `improvement' of the perturbation expansion can be computed using techniques of factorially divergent sums. The asymptotic improvement turns out to be completely determined by the asymptotic behaviour of the vacuum diagrams plus the one-loop counterterms.
