Description
In this talk, we will present an alternative paradigm to construct spin foam models that consists in a change in the discretization on which the theory is based. This change produces a classical theory and a corresponding spin foam model with interesting new characteristics. We hope this will help to understand better the rol of the curvature in the quantum domain, to study renormalization of spin foam models from a new perspective, and to solve an issue about the imposition of the simplicity constraints that has been previously remarked.
